Data Handling and Your Rights

What we actually hold

Readers do not need to provide their names or email addresses to read articles. The publisher may hold correspondence that readers voluntarily send, including the sender’s email address and message. WordPress.com and Automattic handle technical visitor information, cookies and website operation data as described in our Privacy Policy and in their own notices. We currently have no email newsletter signup form on this website.

Making a request

Email privacy@venkatmangudi.com with a brief description of your request. You may ask what data we hold, request correction, updating or erasure where applicable, or raise a privacy grievance. You may use the subject “Privacy Request”. We do not ask for government identity documents as a default; if a request concerns another person’s data, we may need proportionate verification before disclosing or changing it.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge the request, normally within three working days.
  • We verify what information is actually under our control and, if needed, coordinate with WordPress.com or the relevant provider.
  • We correct, delete, explain lawful retention, or otherwise respond as appropriate to the request.
  • We aim to resolve grievances within 30 days where reasonably practicable and comply with applicable statutory requirements, including the notified DPDP grievance timeframe when in force.
  • If a request cannot be fulfilled, we explain the reason and any available escalation route.

Newsletter withdrawal

This website currently has no direct email newsletter list. Readers following our newsletters on LinkedIn should use LinkedIn’s subscription-management or unsubscribe options. When email subscriptions are introduced here, the unsubscribe link in each email will stop future delivery without requiring a reason or additional personal details. It should not be necessary to email us to unsubscribe.

Retention and deletion

We retain personal data only for its defined purpose and any justified security, record-keeping or legal needs. The hosting provider controls retention for its technical logs and service records. We do not retain a copy of LinkedIn’s subscriber list. A withdrawal may leave a minimal suppression or accountability record if required, but must not continue unsolicited marketing.

Rights under Indian law

Our intended handling standard follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025, including notice, correction, erasure, grievance redressal and nomination as provisions become applicable. These legal rights and their enforcement take effect according to the notified commencement schedule. You may contact us now without waiting for that schedule.

Incidents and concerns
