Privacy Policy
Effective date: 8 October 2026. Publisher and data fiduciary: Venkat Mangudi. This is an independent personal publication; Elytra Security is not the data fiduciary for this website. Privacy and grievance contact: privacy@venkatmangudi.com.
1. Reading is free
You may read Executive Signals, Artificial Certainty and Signal Watchtower without creating an account, providing an email address or telling us your name. We do not require personal information in exchange for access to published articles.
2. Information handled when you visit
The site is hosted on WordPress.com. WordPress.com and related Automattic services may automatically process technical information including your IP address, browser and device characteristics, page visits, referral information, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, security events and cookies or similar technologies. This can occur even if you never contact us or subscribe. The precise technologies involved depend on WordPress.com, Jetpack and enabled features. See Automattic’s notice for visitors to sites it hosts and Automattic’s Cookie Policy.
The publisher can access aggregate site statistics and such administrative or security records as WordPress.com makes available. We do not ask readers to identify themselves merely to view articles.
3. Information you choose to send
If you email us, the publisher and email service necessarily receive your email address, message, attachments you choose to include and normal email routing information. We do not require a name, employer, designation, phone number or identity document to ask a question or submit a privacy request. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for the request.
4. Newsletter subscriptions are not open on this website
At present, this website does not offer an active email-subscription form and is not collecting a newsletter mailing list. Existing subscriptions remain on LinkedIn and are governed by LinkedIn’s own privacy and subscription arrangements. Following a LinkedIn newsletter does not transfer your email address to this website.
When direct subscriptions are introduced here, the sign-up will request an email address only, together with which publication or publications you choose. We will not ask for a name or a reason to unsubscribe. A separate, clear notice and affirmative consent step will be provided before collecting any email address for that purpose. Limited technical evidence of consent and withdrawals may be kept only as needed for accountability, security or applicable legal requirements. The actual newsletter provider and its data practices will be disclosed before the form is activated.
5. What information is used for
- Serving articles and maintaining site availability, reliability and security through our hosting services.
- Responding to messages, corrections, privacy requests and grievances that readers send voluntarily.
- Understanding broad readership through provider-supplied site statistics, subject to the provider’s actual technologies and applicable law.
- Meeting applicable legal obligations and investigating security misuse where necessary.
We do not sell readers’ personal data, assemble marketing profiles from contact emails, or add people who contact us to a newsletter list.
6. Who handles information
Venkat Mangudi determines the purposes of this personal publication. WordPress.com and related Automattic services host and operate the site and may handle visitor and account information under their own published notices. The provider’s infrastructure may involve processing outside India. An email provider processes messages sent to privacy@venkatmangudi.com; the service provider is not identified publicly here because its verified identity and contractual data flows have not yet been documented. Any additional newsletter service, analytics or advertising provider will be disclosed if actually introduced.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
WordPress.com/Jetpack may use cookies or related tools for security, sign-in, preferences and site statistics. We do not claim that the hosting platform operates without analytics cookies or other tracking. The separate Cookie Policy explains the controls presently available and links to Automattic’s information. We will assess optional tracking before enabling any new independent advertising or analytics technology.
8. Retention and safeguards
Information is kept only while reasonably necessary for the stated purposes, security, required records or legal obligations. Automattic determines retention for information it processes for its own services; its visitor notice describes typical technical-log retention. Emails and related correspondence are reviewed and removed when no longer needed for the request or a legitimate record-keeping purpose. We do not promise immediate deletion of material that must lawfully be retained.
Administrative access is restricted to authorized accounts and supported by WordPress.com hosting safeguards. We respond to suspected security incidents and coordinate with providers where required.
9. Rights, withdrawal and grievances
You may contact privacy@venkatmangudi.com to ask about information we hold, request a correction or erasure where applicable, or raise a grievance. If we later enable newsletter emails, every newsletter will offer straightforward unsubscribe and preference controls without asking for a reason. We aim to acknowledge privacy requests within three working days and resolve grievances within 30 days where reasonably practicable. We will apply the rights and procedures required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules as the relevant provisions commence. See Data Handling and Your Rights.
10. Children
The publications are available for general reading. We do not offer newsletter registration on this website at present. Any future subscription service involving children will require the applicable safeguards and legally appropriate consent process.
11. Changes to this notice
We will update this policy when our actual services, hosting features, newsletter arrangements or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies this version.
Legal framework: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025. Implementation obligations commence in phases.
